50 years at Malling Rotary

June 17th, 2021|

Our fellow Rotarian, Gardner Crawley marked 50 years as a member of Malling Rotary by taking part in a 5k run in St Michaels and Tenterden on 6th June to support Team Ben Hammond.

Gardner explained, “Ben was a healthy young lad who died suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition. Some of my shepherd apprentices were at school with Ben which is why I am supporting the Team Ben Hammond appeal for CRY screening sessions at Homewood School Tenterden by running in the Tenterden 5K.”

It was a glorious sunny morning and Gardner completed the 5K in 38.41 mins at just under 5mph (4.85) which was a fantastic result especially for the oldest runner on the day (Gardner’s words)! Congratulations to Gardner on this excellent result and for so many years service as a Rotarian .
