Fun & Friendship
Malling is a friendly club where we have as much fun as possible working together to make a positive difference to people’s lives within the community. We hope that the lives of the people who join us will be enriched as they take part in a range of fundraising, formal and informal social events, visits and foreign travel , forming friendships , sharing expertise and often discovering new talents and interests
Events
Whether you enjoy the formality of a Covid – friendly Presidential Handover in a beautiful summer garden, the rather more basic fun of a Community Tidy Up , the elegance of an Afternoon Tea for elderly guests from local homes or just a picnic with fellow members, there are many events in the year, in addition to all the fund raising activities , which provide opportunities for fellowship within the club and in collaboration with other clubs in the district.
Travel
Many people like to travel and the club offers members the chance to be part of a group which can explore interesting places which they may not feel able to visit on their own. In recent years these opportunities for members, their partners and friends, have included Marrakesh and the Atlas Mountains , meeting fellow Rotarians at a fish festival in Sweden, visiting the Christmas Markets of Europe and the food, wine and glorious beaches of Sardinia.
Visits
We do not, of course, have to go abroad to enjoy each other’s company! Members get together for many different types of visits combining cultural and social experiences. Last year these visits included theatre productions in Bromley, the garden at Comp, the Battle of Britain museum at Capel-le-Ferne and the distillery at Chatham to explore (and taste) how gin is made. We hope to provide something to interest everyone as we plan our programmes.
